It's normal

If you get the Down syndrome diagnosis it's normal to be scared and full of emotions. Because you have that "what if" in your mind, but don't be afraid you're child is able to do anything they put their mind to. It will just take them a little longer to learn but the scenic route is the best route.  Don't believe doctors when they tell you that your child will not have a great quality of life, let your child be the one to show you how great there life can be. You can't possibly know how great your unborn child's life can be until they're brought into this world. Of course your scared who wouldn't be you had a picture of the perfect healthy child in your head, your child is still perfect they are in fact extra perfect. Just because your child has down syndrome does not mean that they are down. There is nothing down about down syndrome. Myah is the light of our days she has so much love in her and her smile is heart warming, it can make a bad

Myah will always be Myah not Down Syndrome

Yes myah has down syndrome, but she is not down syndrome. There is nothing down about myah, down syndrome does not define her. When we got the diagnosis that myah had Down syndrome we questioned if she would be able to do the "normal" things that typical kids do. Let me tell you she does everything a typical child does and more. Yes, we do take the scenic route but  who doesn't love to learn with their child. Myah works so hard to do what come's easy to typical children and is excited and happy that she accomplished it. We're beyond happy when she accomplishes anything and everything. We are filled with joy and cheer her on every step if the way. Your child is only a baby for a short period of time so why not cherish everything they do. Every child learns at a different pace don't rush them they will eventually get it, it just might take a little more time. No one is perfect but your child is perfect for you.

My wife had to go to work at two so she was unable to stay with us.My sister, nieces and nephew came to see myah, they enjoyed seeing her and they were excited to get a cousin. Myah was having a hard time nursing so the lactation consultant had me feed her through a syringe, and spoon but we did not give up. Myah and i cuddled and spend time together Angelica had left work and was heading back to the hospital. Angelica arrived at the hospital around midnight we spent time together as a family. Around 2 am we were both needing some rest so i called the nurse and asked her to take myah for a couple of hours.  The nurse called me not even two minutes later and informed us that myah had turned purple and she was sent off to the nicu and that the doctor would be calling us. The doctor called the room and told us that myah was havi
